I was tasked with designing a menu for an iOS App. The menu needed list out a growing number of "melody sets" (folders containing 6 audio loops) and it needed the ability to display the melody set #, a preview button, the artist name, an info button, a favorites button, and a selector for using that melody set in the app. The menu needed to be filtered/sortable and use the clients color palette and theme.
I went through a variety of iterations before reaching the end product. It came down to how much information I could fit on one menu while being able to sort and filter through this large amount of information effectively and maintain the orange and black aesthetic. To best organize the melody sets and their accompanying information, I chose a spreadsheet style format, with tabs at the top for filtering/sorting.
The end product is an effective solution for being able to rapidly sort/filter and understand the info being presented.
The user can organize by set number, artist, alphabetical, and favorites. The user can play a preview of the melody set, see the artists name who made the set, tap an info button to see recommended bpm and genre, select the set as a favorite, and select the set to use in the app. I incorporated pop-ups and dropdown menus to fit even more info onto this screen.
