PsiLoops needed an onboarding process that explains how to use the app.
I used Figma to design an onboarding process that goes through each step of using the app in a logical order.
When I designed the app, I made it top down, keeping the fundamental elements at the top of the page.
This allowed for the onboarding process to do the same.
I designed the visual cues and wrote the script.
PsiLoops wanted the process to be quick yet informative. I designed an onboarding that goes through every single item on the main page, explainings quickly and clearly what each one does, and explaining it in an order that makes sense. For example, start with the play button, move onto the drums, then the melodys, then the effects. When building a song in other software such as a DAW, this is the order you would go in, so for the user it makes sense intuitively. This way, a solid mental map of the app can be achieved before the user even presses any buttons.
This project resulted in a successful onboarding process that is clear to understand and really helps to break down the complexities of the app. By dividing the app into sections or chunks, it can be more easily understood by the user. By using icons that reflect their real life uses, such as light switches and buttons, as well as familiar digital icons like the record and play buttons, users have an intuitive sense of how to use the app before getting to play with it.
Future Updates: The format of the onboarding process allows for easy additions for new features. It's essentially a powerpoint presentation, with the ability to add new slides at any point of the presentation as needed. So any future updates to the app can easily be implemented in my onboarding process
