This is my version of the Occitan cross also known as the cross of Languedoc, le Croix d’Occitania, or the Toulouse Cross. It is the symbol of Occitania, the region that includes part of Spain, southern France, Monaco and parts of northern Italy. The design has its origin around 1000 years ago and was designed as the family crest for the Count of Toulouse.
I moved from Florida and California to southern France about a year ago and the area is full of very cool history that I find inspiring.
My version is solid sterling silver that I have aged. The red gem in the center is surrounded by two rings of gold. It is about the size of a US quarter.
The price noted is without a chain. I have designed several cool chains to match if you are interested.
